Undercover Boss

The past two Sunday’s at church, Pastor Greg shared a message called “Undercover Boss”.

A boss is someone who is the leader. They are in charge and you have to listen to them. At home, parents are the boss. At school, teachers and principles are the boss. You need to listen to them.

God is also like a boss, and it’s important that we listen to him because He knows best!

When you put these two words together “undercover boss” you can see that we’re talking about someone who is not always seen, BUT they are in charge; they’re the leader. You may not know that they are there, but you still need to be good, listen and do things the way they want you to do them.

Pastor Peter gave us some examples: 1. At school scoring paces, and bringing the key back to a desk and filling all the answers in, then getting caught by the teacher. That’s called cheating and it’s wrong. It’s not good because we don’t learn that way. 2. At home sneaking outside at night when mom was hiding in the dark. He got out of bed, snuck outside and thought no one would know, but mom caught him. He wasn’t supposed to be sneaking out, he was supposed to be asleep in bed.

God is an Undercover Boss; we can’t see Him, He doesn’t have a body like us; God is a Spirit, He lives inside of us and in our hearts. God is Undercover.

God is also the boss, He’s the leader and we are supposed to listen to Him, He knows what is good for us; He knows what is best. God will reward us for listening to Him even when we couldn’t see Him.

1 Corinthians 4:5 says… “The Lord will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.”
