Christian Education

Why Christian Education?
Encouragement From Our Lead Pastors, Greg & Betty Fraser
In order to answer why a Christian school is your best choice, we must first determine the purpose of education. Consider the following quote:
“Whatever education is, it should make you a unique individual, not a conformist; it should furnish you with an original spirit with which to tackle the big challenges; it should allow you to find values which will be your road map through life; it should make you spiritually rich, a person who loves whatever you are doing, wherever you are, whomever you are with; it should teach you what is important, how to live and how to die.”
– John Taylor Gatto
As pastors, we are often asked to answer three key questions about life:
Who Am I? – The question of identity.
Why Am I Here? – The question of purpose.
Where Am I Going After I Die? – The question of destiny.
We believe that a personal relationship with God, through His Son Jesus, provides the best answers to these critical life questions, and is effective in leading us to understand why our children should have a Christian education. If the primary purpose of education is to prepare our children to navigate through life successfully, then who better to have with them on that journey than God Himself? Listen to these words about Jesus and see how He brings understanding to life’s primary question:

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross. Colossians 1: 15-20 (The Message Bible)
Jesus not only helps us to answer life’s most important questions, He also promises to be our greatest companion throughout the journey. If we see and believe that, what more could we wish for our child’s education?

Discipleship Training & Godly Character
Here at The Father’s House Christian School, daily scripture reading/memorization, devotions and prayer time are a part of daily routines. Weekly chapel service provides all students with Biblical teachings and relevant class discussions. Additional leadership opportunities for students are developed further during the school year in collaboration with church and school staff.
It is our goal to develop Christ-like character in each of our students while partnering with the church and their family, establishing continuity in all facets of their lives. We set expectations, establish routines, and develop students’ character, conduct, morals, and values. The emphasis on spiritual character development is based on the Bible. This is what empowers students on their journey of becoming lifelong disciples.
