Bernice Wierenga

Kindergarten Teacher

I graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa with a BEd degree and have been teaching for more than 10 years.  I am blessed and thankful to have been given the opportunity to help students see the world from Jesus’s perspective.  My hope as a teacher is to ignite a passionate curiosity in my students about the wonders of God’s creation through the joyful exploration and discovery of His story.

Rachelle-Augustin-2023-2024

Rachelle Augustin

Grade 1 Teacher

I am the Grade 1 teacher at TFHCS. I graduated from Trinity Western University with my BA and Simon Fraser University with my B.Ed. God gave me the opportunity to teach in many international countries and recently in British Columbia. I have taught Grades 1-6 over my 14 years of teaching.  My belief is that teaching is best delivered when it is student centered, Biblically driven and interactive in nature. The goal is to engage and inspire students to know God, their purpose and to reach the world for Christ. I am excited to serve God in helping each student aspire to greatness at TFHCS.

Holly Bills

Grade 3/4 Teacher

I am a graduate of TFHCS, having attended here from Grade 1-12. I then attended Trinity Western University and graduated with a B.A. and a B.Ed. I returned to my home town and have been teaching at TFHCS for more than 10 wonderful years. I love the opportunities TFHCS gives me to introduce students to the wonder of a relationship with God and to encourage every student to become life long learners. I believe God has called me to serve, inspire and love His precious children as they become world-changers for Jesus.

Valeria Medina

Grade 5/6 Teacher

I am the Grade 5 and 6 teacher at TFHCS. I graduated in April 2023 from the University of Alberta. I am excited to see what God has in store for me as a first year teacher. I enjoy teaching and being with children inside and outside school, as I volunteer at my church youth leading and helping at Sunday school. I am passionate about seeing children be built up to be disciples and followers of Christ lifelong. I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach at a school with the same beliefs, values, and morals as mine.

Alyson Benson

Grade 7/8 Teacher

Having graduated from the University of Alberta in 2019, this is my fourth year teaching at The Father’s House Christian School. I am grateful and eager for the opportunity that God has given me to serve in a school where I will get to see, encourage, and walk alongside students as they grow in their academics and relationship with God.

I love when students have a revelation of something new that they have learnt, whether about God, in their academics, or in their everyday lives!  It is a joy to see the excitement on their faces as they learn and grow personally, academically, and in their relationship with God.

Dawn-Ioanidis-2023-2024

Dawn Ioanidis

Education Assistant

I am a mother of 5 children and began working as an EA 10 years ago. Each of my children attended a Christian school. What a blessing to be a part of each students’ spiritual and educational journeys! I serve at a place where God and His word are honoured, and each student “grows up in the presence of the Lord.” 1 Sam 2:21

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Canadian University College in Lacombe, Alberta, and I most recently worked as an administrative assistant for the Government of Alberta.
